How to Talk Dirty: Lenny Bruce–Speed Painting

Tonight I painted this. It's a 1 hour speed painting of Lenny Bruce. I am still working on Lo Pan. But I needed a bit of a break from it. . . and now back to work.

Thanks for looking!

A Girl in a Turban, Speed Painting

Sorry it's been a couple of weeks since my last post. I've decided to post something different this week. You're probably sick of all of my Keith Richards posts. Don't worry, you'll be Keef free until he's completely finished. Here is a speed painting of a girl in a turban.  I worked on this for about an hour. I like how it's coming out, so I'm going to tighten it, add some color, and finish it up.

Thanks for looking, and bearing with my rambling.
Have a great week!

“His name was Abby something…”

This caricature is a request from my buddy Chandler Dunn. It's a speed painting of Marty Feldman as Igor, from Young Frankenstein. My photo reference is a screenshot from the film. It took me about a 1 1/2 hours, and it was nice good fun.

Thanks for looking!

Star Wars/The Shining Mash-up (Speed Painting)

© 2013 Kyle Wiggins, All rights reserved.

I normally don't do fan art. But, this is something I've thought about for years. This is my mad idea, the Death Star trench battle from Star Wars, combined with Danny riding his Big Wheel from The Shining. I've always thought combined, they would make a great painting. Because they both have the same unnerving, hovering feel, due to the Steadicam.

The Steadicam was invented by Garrett Brown, in 1976. It's a portable camera with counter-weights, to keep it steady. With it you can get those eerie scenes of movement, without shot bouncing around. If you've seen Hunger Games or The Blair Witch Project. A Steadicam was NOT used in those pictures.

This is a really quick painting, a little more than an hour. Just to get the idea out. I may do something a little more evolved with it in the future. . . or maybe not.

Thanks for looking!
Cheers!

Hail to the King, Baby!

This is an hour speed painting of Elvis. It's really just a study for an Elvis painting that I am working on now. It is definitely a milder caricature than how I imagine the final piece. I will post the final painting in a couple of weeks.
